D. Chris Haresign, Esq.

Chris Haresign joined Goitein Rosa, LLC (formerly Goitein Law, LLC) as an Associate in 2017. His practice is focused on general civil litigation, family law, real estate, creditor’s and debtor’s rights, and appeals. Chris is a lifelong native of the District of Columbia, has litigated matters in all 23 of Maryland’s counties and Baltimore City, and is committed to serving the legal needs of all of Maryland and D.C.’s citizens. He uses his breadth of knowledge and experience to achieve the best possible results for his clients.

Prior to joining Goitein Law, LLC, Chris was a Senior Litigation Associate at Maryland’s largest creditor’s rights firm. He successfully prosecuted hundreds of foreclosure actions throughout Maryland, while also working with banks and homeowners through mediation and loss mitigation efforts to avoid foreclosure. Chris has also defended financial institutions, loan servicers, and their attorneys in state and federal courts, in suits alleging violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Maryland Consumer Protection Act, Maryland Consumer Debt Collection Act, as well as common law tort actions. Chris also handled the firm’s Maryland appellate litigation. His efforts resulted in two reported opinions, and dozens of unreported opinions affirming victories at the trial level. Chris also represented these entities in title litigation.

Chris received his B.A. in History from Haverford College in 2006, and his J.D. from American University’s Washington College of Law in 2011, with Exceptional Pro Bono Honors. During law school, Chris volunteered at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender in Rockville, Maryland, assisting attorneys in trial preparation, discovery, legal research, drafting memoranda, and pre- and post-trial motions practice. He was also able to obtain a client’s release from wrongful imprisonment through a successful habeas corpus petition. Prior to law school, Chris worked as an immigration paralegal, preparing permanent resident and non-immigrant visa petitions for scientists, researchers, physicians, and their families seeking opportunities for a better life in the United States.

Chris is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. Chris is a member of the American Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, and the D.C. Bar.
